Tell us about your Tomorrows Project.

My Tomorrows Project focuses on climate change because I believe it will be one of the largest threats to our civilization within our generation. My project supports an existing conservation project by in Brazil called The Envira Amazonia Project. The Envira Amazonia Project aims to reduce more than 12.5 million tonnes of Carbon Dioxide (CO2) emissions, while preserving approximately 500,000 acres of Brazil’s Amazonian tropical rainforest. The project has both environmental and community benefits including the reduction of CO2 emissions, conservation of habitats for native birds and threatened tree species, and the improvement of local water quality. The surrounding community is given training in agriculture, granted land tenure, and offered environmentally sustainable employment opportunities.

Why is climate change important to you and why did you decide to partner with

While growing up I learned to recycle, not to waste water, and the importance of trees for our environment. As an adult, I always try to do my part in conserving out planet. I was under the impression that my environmentalism had an impact in my own backyard, making my neighborhood a safer and cleaner place to live. However, CO2 affects the entire earth, regardless of where it’s emitted. Supporting the reduction of CO2 in Brazil has same benefits of reducing CO2 in the United States.

I can see the effects of climate and recently I’ve been compelled to do more. I learned about through researching CO2 emissions reduction practices. is an awesome non-profit that is leading the fight against global warming, making it easy for almost anyone to reduce and offset an individual’s climate impact. provides climate change education, carbon offsets and reductions, and public outreach programs.

What impact has been made so far?

The Envira Amazonia Project is currently offsetting 1,000 metric tonnes of CO2, or the equivalent of:
-CO2 removal from 947 acres of forest in one year
-CO2 emissions from 1,067,095 pounds of coals burnt
-CO2 emissions from 2,396,656 miles driven by an average passenger vehicle

Why is The Tomorrows Project important to you?

I have been proactively looking for ways to make a larger, more positive impact on the environment around me. The Tomorrows Project gave me an opportunity to spread awareness and support around an issue that is close to my heart. I’m proud to work for a company that is in the forefront of innovation with the One for One™ business model and supports employees to make a social impact.
